Thinking of taking the kids out to the park for a fun family picnic? Whether it’s a short break for kids who are stressing over examinations or toddlers who simply love playing outdoors, a picnic is a great way for the family to bond while burning some calories and getting a good dose of vitamin D. Check out our list of picnic venues and pick one that is most suitable for you!

Jurong Lake Gardens

Within the Jurong Lake Gardens, you will find the Chinese Garden and Japanese Garden. Besides a scenic view of the Seven-storey Pagoda and the Jurong Lake District while you munch on some bites, you can also admire the large bonsai collection housed within a traditional Suzhou-style courtyard after a great meal by the plains at the Chinese Garden. If you choose to head over to the Japanese Garden, you’ll get to explore a network of paths winding past the Guesthouse along Garyuchi pond, and observe the many bird species that have made the garden their home.

Ideal for families who live nearby, Bishan Park is a great place for families to have a fun day out. Aside from its unique waterways, the park features lush greenery, Pond Gardens and River Plains. It’s also home to a wide array of interesting fauna and flora, making it a great place for the kids to learn about nature. The best perk is you can always head to the nearby cafe ‘Grub’ if you happen to run out of food!
