4 Mouthwatering Dishes You Can Create Using Your Airfryer

Have you ran out of ideas on what to serve the family during mealtime using your airfryer? Fret not. Philips shares with us some recipes you can do with just this wonder of a kitchen appliance. 

#1 Airfried rosti

Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 25 minutes

Ingredients: 
6 medium (or 12 small) raw potatoes
3 onions
3 tbsp melted butter
3 tsp dried parsley
2 egg whites
Salt and pepper
Olive oil
Paprika

1. Peel and grate potatoes. Boil in salted water for 5 minutes, then set aside to cool.

2. Grate the onions and add to drained potatoes. Mix with melted butter, herbs and egg whites. Add salt and pepper to taste.

3. Grease a shallow round oven pan that fits into your Airfryer basket. Carefully fill the pan with the potato mixture, pressing it down gently. Brush the top of potatoes with olive oil. Bake for 20 minutes at 350° F, until brown.

4. Using a knife, loosen the edges of the rosti, then carefully remove from the pan. Let cool, then and cut into slices. Fry slices for 5 minutes at 350° F. Sprinkle with paprika powder and serve warm.

#2 Almond cake

Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 45 minutes

Ingredients:
3 1/2 oz butter
1 cup powdered sugar
2 eggs
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup almond flour
5 oz dried apricots
Zest of half an orange
3 tbsp almond slivers

1. Let butter come to room temperature. Using a mixer, cream the butter and powdered sugar. Continue mixing while adding eggs, one by one. Then add the flour, almond flour, chopped dried apricots and orange zest. Mix well.

2. Brush a thin layer of butter inside the Airfryer baking accessory. Pour in the mixture and sprinkle with almond slivers.

3. Bake for 45 minutes at 275° F. Let cool for 10 minutes before cutting.

#3 Chicken and noodles with asparagus and mushrooms

Preparation time: 10 minutes
Marinating time: 20 minutes
Cooking time: 30 minutes
Total time: 60 minutes

Ingredients:
14 oz chicken thigh filets
4 tbsp soy sauce
1 teaspoon chili paste
2 garlic cloves
14 oz udon noodles
2 tbsp sesame oil
5 1/2 oz shiitake mushrooms
5 1/2 oz button mushrooms
1 sliced red onion
5 1/2 oz bean sprouts
7 oz asparagus
1 tsp sesame seeds

1. Cut the chicken thigh filets into pieces. Marinate 20 minutes in soy sauce, chili paste and finely chopped garlic.

2. Prepare the udon noodles and drain. Mix with sesame oil.

3. Bake the chicken for 10 minutes at 400° F, giving it a shake now and then. Add the shiitake mushrooms, button mushrooms, sliced red onion, bean sprouts and asparagus. Cook for another 10 minutes (give them a good shake twice while cooking). Stir in the noodles and cook for another 10 mins. Sprinkle with the sesame seeds.

#4 Salmon and broccoli lasagna

Preparation time: 30 minutes
Cooking time: 40 minutes

Ingredients:
1 small head of broccoli
1 shallot
1 tbsp chopped parsley
1 tbsp chopped chives
3.5 fl oz white wine
7fl oz cream
7 fl oz whole milk
4 tsp cornstarch
Juice of 1 lime
Salt and pepper
1 lb fresh salmon filets
3.5 oz grated parmesean cheese Fresh or prepared lasagna sheets 

1. Finely chop broccoli and set aside. Remove skin from salmon and pat dry. Cut into 1 inch chunks and set aside.

2. Finely chop shallot, parsley and chives. Set aside. In a pan, bring white wine, cream, milk and cornstarch to a boil. Add chopped shallots and herbs. When the sauce begins to thicken (approx. 10 minutes), add the juice of 1 lime and salt and pepper to taste. Set aside half of the sauce and mix remaining sauce with the chopped broccoli.

3. Using an ovenproof dish that fits in the Airfryer, create lasagna layers. Start with a thin layer of white sauce, then a sheet of lasagna followed by the chopped broccoli mixture and another sheet of lasagna. Then add a layer of raw salmon, with a lasagna sheet on top. Repeat steps above and create two more layers with remaining broccoli mixture and salmon. Cover with a layer of white sauce and parmesan cheese.

4. Bake for 40 minutes at 275° F.
