Want to start weaning your baby off breastmilk or formula? Try adding these delicious purees into their diet as they slowly try eating more foods. These are so easy to prepare, filled with healthy nutrients and taste so good because of the natural flavours.
Blackberry, Apple & Kale
Steam the blackberries, apple and kale. Add them into a food processor and slowly add water to get the consistency you want.
Blueberry Banana Oat
Puree blueberries, bananas and cooked oats together in blender/processor. Add some coconut milk or a little honey if desired.
Carrots & Nutmeg
Steam carrots and add a 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg for taste. You can use water, breastmilk or chicken stock for the liquid base.
Apple, Blueberry & Spinach
Lightly steam the ingredients and then get to processing!
Simply boil some cubed chicken fillet in chicken stock and add some rosemary to add fragrance. You can also add this basic chicken puree to other purees for a fuller meal.
Roasted Banana & Rosemary
You will need to bake/roast the bananas depending on your oven/microwave oven settings. Blend about 4 bananas with 5 – 7 sprigs of rosemary and slowly add water to get to your desired consistency.
Broccoli & Olive Oil
All you need are 2 cups of broccoli, 1 small white potato, and 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Steam the ingredients and blend with the desired amount of water.
You can also freeze any excess to store and defrost by blending them with coconut water or almond milk, depending on the flavours!
