8 Things To Look Forward To At The Singapore Night Festival

The Singapore Night Festival weekends are always two of our favourite weekends of the year and we look forward to attending the events and festivities. This year, inspired by the zeal driving inventors in their quest to discover the new and unonventional, visitors can look forward to an exciting line-up from local and international acts on 19, 20, 26 and 27 August. Here are 8 activities and events we think you should check out.

1. KEYFRAMES | Groupe LAPS (France)


Where: National Museum of Singapore Façade
When: 19, 20, 26, 27 August 2016 (7.30pm– 2am), 21–25 August 2016 (7.30pm–11pm)

2. The Wheel House | Acrojou (UK)
Where: National Museum of Singapore, Mainground
When: 19 and 20 August 2016, 8pm – 8.25pm, 9.25pm – 9.50pm, 10.50pm – 11.15pm
The Wheel House is a unique, rolling acrobatic theatre show, which unfolds inside and around a stunning circular home as it travels with the audience walking alongside. 
3. Invasion | Close-Act (Netherlands)
Where: National Museum of Singapore Front Lawn 
When: 26 and 27 August 2016, 9.45pm – 10.15pm, 11.30pm – 12am
Soak in the magical atmosphere as you feast you eyes on prehistoric animals and and mythical creatures. 
4. Camping Wonderland by Campus Corner
Where: Waterloo Street, 51 Waterloo Street #01-01
When: 19 Aug, 20 Aug, 26 Aug and 27 Aug, 6.00 PM to 10.00 PM
Enjoy the sight of tents made up of LED lights by resting on hammocks along the corridors or lying underneath the lit tent displays! 
5. Young Inventors Lair
Where: National Museum of Singapore, Canyon, Basement
When: 19 Aug, 20 Aug, 26 Aug and 27 Aug
Last admission at 10:30 PM
These simple craft activities suited for children allows them to showcase their talent and flair for invention. You child will learn how to make some simple inventions from basic craft materials. Participants get to bring their craft items home as a souvenir of the Singapore Night Festival 2016. 
6. Cirque The Cathay Roving Light LED Twirlers
Where: The Cathay
When: 19 Aug to 21 Aug, 26 Aug to 28 Aug, 8.30 PM – 9.00 PM, 9.30 PM – 10.00 PM
Be spellbound by the spinning lights and stick beats happening outside The Cathay from 8.30pm onwards.
7. The Siege: A Lightsaber Battle Experience by Fightsaber (SG)
Where: Armenian Street, Main Stage
When: 19 Aug & 20 Aug, 9: 30 PM – 10:00 PM, 11:30 PM – 12:00 AM
Fans of Star Wars, experience intergalactic wars like never before! FightSaber’s fight choreography is inspired by not only the epic lightsaber battles in the Star Wars films but also Chinese martial arts films and Western action films.
8. FunCycling II by Bikes4Fun (SG)
Where: National Museum of Singapore, Concourse
When: 19 Aug, 20 Aug, 26 and 27 Aug, 7.30 PM to 2.00 AM 
Participants are invited to interact with the modified bicycles in an installation as Bikes 4 Fun explores the limitless possibilities of these traditional two-wheeled machines!
