All The Movies You Should Watch This May 2018

May’s heating up but there ain’t no movie drought! Ahead, we share seven movies to add to your to-watch list – there’s a good array of comedies, tear-jerkers and fast-paced action flicks, so grab your kids and popcorn!

The Miracle Season

If you’re up for tear-jerking and inspirational movies, this film is one to add to your list. Based on a true story, The Miracle Season follows the girls’ volleyball team of West High School in the days after the passing of their star player. Reeling from the loss of a dear friend and team mate, the dispirited group must band together under the no-nonsense guidance of their coach in hopes of winning the state championship. 

Isle of Dogs

How far would you go for your canine pal? Isle of Dogs follows the adventures of Atari Kobayashi, a 12-year-old boy whose bodyguard-dog, Spots, was exiled to Trash island along with the rest of his species after a canine-flu outbreak in Megasaki City. While trying to uncover the whereabouts of his beloved pet, Atari makes the acquaintance of a ragtag mongrel pack, unwittingly steps stumbles into a secret conspiracy and discovers the truth behind the Mayor of Megasaki. 

I Kill Giants

Madison Wolfe stars in I Kill Giants as Barbara, a troubled teenager who escapes her family problems by living in a world of imagination. As her home situation worsens, Barbara withdraws deeper within her fantasized realm and is convinced she holds the sole responsibility of warding off giants preying on her town. With the support of a new friend and school counselor, Barbara comes face to face with her worst fears yet. An emotional and empowering graphic fantasy film, I Kill Giants is presented by the same producers of Harry Potter.

Deadpool 2

This time round, Deadpool finds himself trying to prevent the assassination of a young, but powerful mutant by Cable, a time-traveling soldier. He ends up assembling his very own team of mutants, the X-Force. You’ll definitely have to leave the kiddos home for this one! 

Solo: A Star Wars Story

Good news for Star Wars fans! Star Wars returns this May, so get ready for an expedition on the Millennium Falcon. This movie sets the stage for a journey around the galaxy with Han Solo and his new crew of criminals from the underworld including, his future copilot Chewbacca, and infamous gambler, Lando Calrissian. Lo and behold, this expedition may just turn these criminals into unlikely heroes. 

Show Dogs

A hilarious comedy for all ages, Show Dogs follows the adventures of a police dog, Max, and his fellow human FBI agent out on their rescue mission of a stolen baby panda. Thanks to an informant’s tip, they scurry behind the smugglers’ trail and found themselves contesting in an exclusive dog show in Las Vegas. With his doggy glam-team, max struggles with primping out his gruff style for an all new Hollywood glamour while going undercover.

Duck Duck Goose

Duck Duck Goose shares a story of a bachelor goose, Peng, who constantly lands himself in trouble with his free-spirited soul. One day, after his reckless accident, he waddles into two lost ducklings seeking help to reunite with their flock. Handicapped from his injury, Peng agrees to walk with the duckling to mask his injuries, but ends up forming way stronger bonds with the ducklings, more than he will ever expect.
