Cultural Extravaganza 2019

Returning for its third edition, come and discover Singapore’s evolving and contemporary Chinese culture in our everyday life. Held over three weeks, you will be spoilt for choice at the dynamic line-up of programmes that features performances, exhibitions, workshops, talks, and creative markets. Brought to you by the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre, you’ll be interested in things such as the heritage behind things like our daily cup of coffee, how Chinese wedding traditions have changed, and even circus tricks!

Noisy Ocean

Held in celebration of World Oceans Day on 8 June, head down to S.E.A. Aquarium’s Ocean Fest and learn about ocean soundscapes, including the negative impacts of sound pollution through immersive installations, musical performances, project showcases, and interactive activities. On weekends and public holidays at 12pm and 2pm, visitors can also participate in an educational and entertaining live performance that features life-sized dancing puppets and an ensemble of upcycled materials that have been turned into musical instruments!

Night Safari Celebrates 25 Years

Floating Utopias is a playful exhibition that explores the social history of inflatable objects while showcasing how they have been effectively used in art, architecture, and social activism over the decades. You and your family can expect a dazzling visual experience with over 40 artworks by more than 15 international and local artists. Don’t miss your chance to take photos with the eight large-scale air-filled sculptures, which will be suspended in galleries throughout the exhibition!

Gallery Children’s Biennale 2019: Embracing Wonder

Inspire your child’s young and curious mind through art at the Gallery Children’s Biennale 2019: Embracing Wonder! Through 11 interactive and multi-dimensional artworks by 13 Singapore and Southeast Asian artists, the aim is to spark curiosity in children about the world around them, encourage them to discover diversity, and imagine new possibilities. Apart from the exhibition, there is also a line up of fun activities you can partake in with your child, such as the Super Sonic Walk, Artist Chitter-Chatter, and film screenings selected by the Singapore International Children’s Film Festival.

Welcome to the Singing Forest

This June, bring the whole family to Jurong Bird Park to meet some of the critically endangered songbird species that still thrive despite the near-extinction of some of its species. Listen to their tunes as you find out for yourself why these birds must be protected. In addition to the main attraction, you and your family are invited to enter an immersive audio-visual experience to understand more about the reality of a “silent forest” where songbirds no longer exist. You can also join an intimate tour led by the avian keepers who will showcase five critically-endangered songbirds: Bali Myna, Black-winged Starling, Greater Green Leafbird, Blue-crowned Laughing-thrush, and the Straw-headed Bulbul.

Meet The Real Lion King at the Singapore Zoo

In collaboration with the upcoming all-new Disney’s The Lion King, Singapore Zoo will be holding the Circle of Life Festival, a celebration of creatures big and small who play important roles in maintaining the health of the ecosystem. The festivities feature a Savannah-themed moving tram with musical performers that will take you past the real-life counterparts of characters such as Timon, Rafiki, and Simba. You can also join the Circle of Life wildlife tour where you and your family will get an interactive wildlife experience, which includes feeding the white rhinoceros, meerkats, and cheetahs!

Project Dream Weaver: An Inclusive Fashion Design Camp for Children

Held in conjunction with the special exhibition Guo Pei: Chinese Art and Couture at the Asian Civilisations Museum, this four-day inclusive art camp will bring together children of all ages to work in teams to develop their creative skills as well as learn more about themselves and others. The camp includes access to the behind-the-scenes exhibition set-up, private gallery tour, material exploration, fashion design workshop, and a chance to meet the designer Guo Pei.

Step into the colourful world of Disney Pixar’s Toy Story 4 at the annual Children’s Festival at Gardens by the Bay! Come see the transformation of the Supertree Grove into a carnival filled with family-friendly games and activities, all inspired by Woody and his toy friends in an all-new Toy Story adventure. Some of the fun experiences include Star Adventurer, where the little ones can try out self-driving cars, and Bo Peep’s Adventure, a fun obstacle course for children. The festival will also feature the first-ever Toy Story 4-themed marble run track, which will follow a 1.5 metre-wide marble as it weaves around the towering Supertrees and travels along the track that spans approximately 150 metres.

Boasting a large 18,000 square feet space, Kiztopia is Singapore’s latest and biggest edutainment park that’s housed within a shopping mall. The young ones can expect activities such as an indoor driving school, role play rooms, Augmented Reality (AR) studios with arts and sports content, as well as a themed cafe.
