IKEA Recalls LATTJO Bat Cape Due to Strangulation Risk

IKEA urges customers who have a LATTJO Bat cape to immediately stop children from playing with it and to bring it back to any IKEA store for a full refund.

This recall of LATTJO Bat cape came after reports about three children who suffered marks and scratches on the neck while using LATTJO Bat capes. The cape got stuck and didn’t detach easily enough from the neck of the children. Though no injuries requiring medical treatment have been reported globally, there are risks of strangulation and/or injuries to the neck and IKEA is taking precautionary measures by recalling the product and all affected products have been removed from the shelves.

LATTJO Bat cape has been sold on all IKEA markets except Russia and Indonesia since November 2015 and it can be returned to any IKEA store for a full refund. Proof of purchase (receipt) is not required. For more information, please contact IKEA Customer Relations at +65 6786 6868.
