Interesting Activities The Kids Will Enjoy This June Holidays

As we make our way into the June holidays, it can sometimes be a little tough trying to fill the month long break with fulfilling activities that our little ones would enjoy. Fret not though, as we’ve rounded up a few out-of-the-box programs that will have them jumping up and down in excitement. 

Trick Eye Museum

Taking things up a notch with their art installations and paintings, Trick Eye Museum Singapore has introduced Augmented Reality (AR) features to its exhibits. To experience the museum’s installations coming “to life”, visitors would need to download a free mobile app – TRICKEYE – available on the Apple iTunes Store and Google Play Store. After which, you’ll be able to take pictures and videos of the exhibits with added illusions, special effects, and unexpected realities.

Date: From 27 May 2017 onwards, permanent exhibition

Specially curated for Science Centre Singapore, Professor Crackitt’s Light Fantastic uses mirror mazes to create an immersive experience featuring 105 mirror cells and numerous interactive exhibits. Asia’s largest mirror maze exhibit yet, journey through a compelling storyline and experience the magic as you help the eccentric Professor find his pet parrot, Wattnot. And as it is a vast laboratory, you’ll never know just what experiments you’ll have to help fix along the way.

Dino Robot Factory

For parents with kids 12 years and below, if you’ve ever heard your child talking about how they would like to experience for themselves first hand how a Robot Dinosaur is created, then the Dino Robot Factory is an activity just for them! Some of the highlights include the experiencing of the animatronics building process with the dinosaur skeletons at the Mechanical Assembly Room, and to make a dinosaur move using Kinect Sensors at the Control Room.

Come join the Omni-Theatre for some extraordinary Robots fun as you follow the robot RoboThespian on a behind-the-scenes journey into the revolutionary world of humanoid robots and see how they are changing the world that we are living in. Take a peek into the world’s most exciting robotics lab which will allow you to come face to face with robots such as ASIMO, ATLAS, and NAO and see how they move, work and play just like the rest of us.

GosTan Back (A Time-Travelling Adventure On Wheels)

Throughout the weekends of the June holidays, join the History Gallery in National Museum of Singapore on a special theatrical experience, GosTan Back, as you follow a young boy on his quest to save the future by going back in time. While this production is specially designed to support children with additional needs and their family, the program is open to all children aged between 5 to 8 years old. So, remember to register early for your chance to experience Singapore’s history and artefacts with a spin of tale and a whole lot of hands-on fun!
