Kickstart Your Child's Academic Success At Mulberry Learning Centre

All parents want their little ones to gain the best possible head start in life and selecting the right preschool for them, can be a daunting challenge. By providing their children with the optimal early learning experiences and a nurturing environment that actively fosters their intellectual, emotional, physical and social development; it lays a solid foundation for academic success in the long run.

Mulberry Learning Centre, a multi-award-winning preschool with a network of 10 centres in Singapore alone, certainly checks off all these boxes. These early education experts offer a unique blend of Reggio Emilia-inspired project learning, Multiple Intelligences and The Habits of Mind framework. In fact, Mulberry Learning is the first-ever preschool network to be certified by The Institute for Habits of Mind from the United States and is the only preschool in Singapore that utilises this unique curriculum.

Understanding the increasingly competitive education standards, Mulberry Learning’s research-based pedagogy is built on four strong pillars.

Pillar one – iDevelop

iDevelop is based on the Habits of Mind. It provides young children with an avenue for autonomous learning, critical thinking, and effective inquiry. Children develop thinking dispositions toward behaving intelligently when confronted with unfamiliar and challenging problems – situations that demand skillful thinking.

One of the habits, managing impulsivity, teaches the children to take time to think before they speak or act. Often, pre-schoolers blurt out the first answer that comes to mind rather than considering alternatives. As they learn to manage this behaviour, they will be able to put more thought into solving problems by understanding instructions before beginning a task, taking time to reflect on questions and answer as well as offer alternative points of view.

Pillar two – iExplore

iExplore is based on Mulberry Learning’s pedagogy of applied learning. Children are encouraged to explore the world through the Reggio Emilia-inspired Project Inquiry. Little Mulberrians use project works to collaborate and work together as a team in solving problems. They discuss among themselves and present their solutions to the class, with their teacher acting as a facilitator. Each team gets to learn from one another as to why some solutions work better than others.

Pillar three – iLearn

iLearn is a suite of core subjects enhanced with enrichment programmes all taught in both English and Chinese. Some centres offer additional Mother Tongue languages, such as Japanese. The Mulberry Experience encompasses an extensive range of core and enrichment programmes specially designed by their team of curriculum specialists. While the former focuses on building a strong foundation, the latter programmes are an extension of your child’s learning. Designed on the theory of Multiple Intelligences, your child acquires his knowledge of literacy, numeracy and science in a fun and interactive way.

STEAM-based Enrichment Programmes

Aimed at equipping children with real-world problem-solving and design skills, Mulberry Learning’s enrichment programmes, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics)-based, which allows students to explore the interconnection between each subject. From LiteracyFun! to Maths Quest, Body Smart Kid to Music Mooves and more, your child will be exposed to a unique mix that will help them grow as well-rounded individuals.

Pillar four – iExperience

Mulberry Learning believes that a thoughtfully designed physical environment is the third teacher in a child’s learning journey.

That is why each centre features purposeful design to facilitate and stimulate the children’s learning and development. Examples include the Construction Piazza to help promote problem-solving and divergent thinking skills, the Art Atelier which encourages artistic and creative expression, the Imaginary PlayScape for children to develop skills such as respect and mannerism towards others while cooperating in imaginary play and the Discovery Cove for hands-on sensorial exploration.
