Dance and music is closely associated with numbers – the rhythm and scales teaches children how to count more efficiently and recognise patterns. Before they are sent off to kindergarten, this is the best time to include 1 or 2 weekly classes in their schedule without stressing them out.
1. Juz Music
One of the more popular music schools for young children, Juz Music offers a class for 0 – 2 year olds introducing the basic concept of sound and pitch through interactive games that promote bonding between the child and adult. When your baby eventually chooses a musical instrument, Juz Music offers more than just the typical piano and violin classes.
2. Our Music Studio
Their Musical Babes class, for children under 18 months, helps to lay the musical foundation. A typical class uses various interactive tools, vocal play and creative movement – more than just music and ‘symphonic babbling’, your baby will be taught how to groove to the beat.
3. Stepping Out Studios
The Melody Bear dance movement syllabus is targeted at 2 – 4 year olds, it is new to Singapore and introduces dance choreography through every day movements like hopping and running. Each milestone reached will entitle them to stickers, medals and badges to encourage a sense of achievement.
4. Centre Stage
“Ballet Tots” is for children aged from 2 and a half years old to 3 and a half years old. This is a ‘Mummy and Me’ class that promotes imaginative thinking through ballet incorporating story telling. They make use of interactive tools and give away stickers at the end of every class, what a way to cultivate a zest for dance!
