[Singapore Night Festival 2018] Installations The Kids Will Love

Round up the kids ‘cause the ever-popular Singapore Night Festival has returned to light up the Bras Basah and Bugis precincts with all things artsy.

Themed “Bring on the Night”, its 11th edition strives to spotlight creatives and collaborators of different disciplines, backgrounds and industry. Supported by over 60 partners, look forward to a dynamic display of 27 performances from various genres and mesmerising art installations, alongside a myriad of F&B options and artisan craft offerings.

Step into a forest below the sea at the transformed lawn at National Museum of Singapore. Extending from the Arctic Ocean to Coral Gardens and into the mysteries of the Volcanic Sea, this installation allows curious minds to explore the uncharted wonders of the underwater world, witnessing its glorious past and the depths of its future.

Put the pedal to the metal at Ember Rain, an interactive fire sculpture that sees a mesmerising downpour of sparkling embers as it is activated. The sparks represents ideas and innovation, while its accompanying tower has lotus-shaped petals that symbolise ideas flowing through space.

Venture down this little alley down Armenian Street and witness local street art come to life! Using a clever mix of RGB spotlights and integrated motion sensors, watch as each artwork is illuminated with dynamic colours and light – who says street art can only be appreciated in the day?

Attendees of past Singapore Night Fests will recognise this popular projection show. This year, expect an immersive journey that’ll engage your visual and aural senses through stunning façade projections. From morphing across the cosmic scale to the infinitely small atomic levels, to travelling as fast as the prism of light, this installation will be a mind-blowing experience to say the least.

Smart Nation meets tactile playground in Pulse, a digital interpretation of the urban landscape today. The children will enjoy interacting with the colourful visualisation projects through sound and voice, while the adults can meaningfully reflect on the influence of digital tech in today’s society.
