6 Ways To Date Your Daughter : Dad Edition

Strong father-daughter relationships come through spending time together, and enjoying each other’s company. Here’s how you can spend more time with your princess.

There’s nothing quite like a bond between a father and his precious daughter. As her daddy, you’re the first person she’ll go on a date with and she’ll learn how a girl should be treated, with respect, gentleness, and undivided attention, of course!

So take a chance to indulge in our top six picks of the best father-daughter activities according to the type of dad you are.

  1. Nerdy Dad
A trip to the Science Centre Singapore or even to the museum would do you both good. With so much to experience and learn in these places, your girl will not be easily bored as well. Alternatively, look out for exciting events and historic exhibitions happening, and set a date. It’s as easy as that!
  2. Sporty Dad
There’s an endless list of what you can do with when it comes to sports. Try to stay away from the usual swimming or badminton
sessions. Instead, try archery, Zumba, or even kickboxing. Don’t be afraid to try out new things, for it may prove to be the best thing you and your girl have ever done together.
  3. Goofy Dad
For the goofy dads who tend to be quite laidback, you may want to visit the trampoline park or make another trip down to Universal Studios. However, if you want a cheaper option, create fun games at home for you and her to play. It would be something as adventurous as the Amazing Race, or something as simple as Twister.
  4. Punk Dad
Concerts, plays, musicals – book those tickets! Depending on how young your child is, she may choose Barney and maybe even Taylor Swift (older kids) over your heavy metal bands. But hey, at least you get to jam it out with her at concerts. How cool will that be, seriously!
  5. Foodie Dad
If you consider yourself a foodie, then how about a cooking lesson with your daughter? It’s a good way to introduce her to basic cooking skills. Or you can opt to cook and bake with her at home to prepare something special for mummy. Oh yes, you could also bring her café-hopping, which is all the rage right now in sunny Singapore.
  6. Stressed Dad
Are you someone who is always tensed up with work and is always busy? You and your girl should then sign up for father-daughter yoga or pop by the fish spa to de-stress (and pamper) yourselves. But, if you’re looking for some peace and quiet, drive up Mount Faber and enjoy a serene one-on-one conversation with your girl and unwind.
