A magical Christmas awaits everyone at Gardens By The Bay’s Christmas Wonderland celebration, featuring a Christmas Parade with everyone’s favourite Christmas characters, including Santa on his reindeer sleigh, the dancing elves and Santarinas, cheeky penguins sneaking out of igloos and snowmen hiding in the Gardens. Kids who love to learn and have fun at the same time will enjoy the new interactive Santa’s Workshop where animatronic elves will be wrapping presents and fulfilling wishes on their list. Father Christmas will also be there!

Prepare to be stunned by a dazzling display of over 40 majestic luminarie light sculptures in brand new designs, including Asia’s tallest luminarie Christmas tree—for a perfect Christmas selfie. Other features of the event include:

  • Walk of Peace, a stunning art installation made up of more than 60,000 bulbs that gives visitors a chance to walk through a 50-metre tunnel-like display for a surreal illuminated experience;
  • Four theatrical productions by acclaimed circus performers from various parts of the globe including Australia, London, and New York;
  • A Christmas carol under the magical Cassa Armonica gazebo with performances by various artists and the Garden Rhapsody–The Christmas Special light and sound show;
  • Blizzard Time presented by Häagen-Dazs, which is Christmas Wonderland’s most popular attraction;
  • Christmas Village where you can shop from a host of new craft vendors and limited edition food and drink launched by Brewerkz and Häagen-Dazs; and
  • Poinsettia Wishes floral display with creative direction by the Ambassador of Denmark to Singapore, Her Excellency Dorte Bech Vizard.

A Very Merry Minions Christmas

Is your child a Minion fan? Several events and activations are happening including:

Island Lights

Sentosa’s signature Island Lights comes back and descends on Sentosa Cove Village for the first time—now with local and international artists frontlining the event. The event will also feature interactive light art installations of up to 4.8m-high curated by design studio Space Objekt, and 300 colour-changing neon snowflakes at Quayside Isle to offer enchanting dinner by the quay. The 135m-long space will enable guests to explore and immerse themselves in the landscape of unique light art installations created around the theme of “Celebration.” 

Catch the spectacular Boat Light Parade and bask in a merry atmosphere at the Sentosa Cove Holiday Market featuring 15 stalls selling festive treats and gifts. Families looking to bond over the weekends will also enjoy Island Lights fire twirlers, movie screenings, roving percussion performances, and more, which will be extended throughout the Christmas week. For food-lovers, go gaga over international gastronomic dining concepts at Quayside Isle, alongside a dazzling display of lights and music, “Snowflakes Symphony.”

Still got the Frozen 2 fever? Changi Airport introduces A Frozen Wonderland at Changi, bringing the freeze right to sunny Singapore this December school holidays. Watch Changi Airport transform into a Frozen Wonderland with Disney’s Frozen 2 decorations and light show and get a chance to meet and greet Disney’s Frozen 2 characters at Terminal 3 Departure Hall.

The Great Circus of Europe!

Witness world-class circus performers do their acts at The Great Circus of Europe presented by local carnival veteran Uncle Ringo. Get a chance to be a part of this breathtaking experience as this is the first time that the Circus is coming to Singapore. The show features carnival games, thrilling rides, and delectable delights at the food street—bringing fun, family, and food all in one venue!

The show is packed with 90-minute spectaculaire with performers like Hayley Gandey, a fourth-generation descendant of a circus dynasty, Prince Amiri or the “Bone Crusher,” The London Showgirls, and Clown Andreea. Gasp in awe as the Colombian dare-devils The Gerlings attempt to do the dangerous “Double Space Wheel.” The Skyriders will embark on a motorbike journey seven meters up in the air and on a 15mm wide wire, while The Survivors will fly through the air with their heart-racing performance. The Serik Brothers will do a series of acrobatic acts while suspended 13 meters away from the ground. Other acts include Duo Nava with an aerial ballet display, The Athumani Warriors from Kenya with their high-adrenaline acrobatic acts, and high-energy roller-skating routines by The High Rollers.

  • Christmas Fair: This will feature family-friendly hands-on activities, food and drinks, and local artisan stalls with close to 20 curated vendors guaranteed to get you into the Christmas mood!   • Annual Solar Eclipse: Witness the Sun turns into a Ring of Fire in the sky with the once-in-a-lifetime annual solar eclipse viewing at the Ecogarden from 11am to 3pm, then learn more about this majestic event at The Sun, The Moon and Everything in Between workshop from 9:30am to 11:30am on 26 December. For kids and kids-at-heart who love toys: Singapore Comic Con (SGCC) happens in December with lots of exciting treats for toy enthusiasts! The event will see award-winning design studio Mighty Jaxx collaborate with iconic children’s show Sesame Street through the Freeny’s Hidden Dissectibles: Sesame Street! collection. Get first dibs on the collection, which will feature six fan favourite characters and four hidden variants. The special edition 4-inch Elmo and the latest XXRAY Plus Cookie Monster will also debut at SGCC 2019.

Toy artisans whose works will be featured include: Tik Ka from East, who has held solo exhibitions in major cities worldwide including Taiwan, Paris, New York, and London; Michael Sng, owner of Machination Studio, who has fulfilled his childhood dream of making a large fictional walking tank model and embarked on a journey to learn about 3D modelling, electronics and programming; award-winning illustrator and comic artist Koh Hong Teng; John Layman, whose notable works include Cyclops, Godzilla, Scarface, House of Me: Fantastic Four, and the Marvel Identity Wars Annuals; professional freelance artist Jim Mahfood, who wrote and drew the X-Men-related Generation X Underground Special; and licensed Star Wars and Marvel poster artwork creator Alexander Iaccarino, among others.
