DinoQuest Exhibition

If you and your child haven’t seen the blockbuster DinoQuest Exhibition at Science Centre Singapore yet, now is your chance to do so as the immersive multimedia experience is extended until 29 September. This travelling exhibition has caught the interest of many and is now set to surprise more families and kids as they discover more about dinosaurs.

The exhibition is curated by the world’s leading palaeontologist, Emerita Professor Patricia Vickers-Rich, and features seven thematic zones: Explorer’s Hut, Dinosaur of Darkness, Extinction Theatre, Dig Site, Laboratory, Dinosaur Dreaming, and Activity Zone. It gives spectators a multi-sensory experience made possible by the latest multimedia technology—from holographic mapping to augmented virtual reality. You can even get a chance to win limited edition DinoQuest merchandise when you arrive in dinosaur-themed clothing!

Sentosa Sandsation: Star Wars Edition

Check out your favourite Star Wars characters at this largest and grandest sand sculpture festival. Watch as Siloso beach turns into a galaxy far, far away with 20 Star Wars-themed sand sculpture, including iconic characters such as Yoda, Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Darth Vader, and Kylo Ren. Other activities include sand sculpting workshops, competitions, and free Star Wars movie screenings. For fanatics and collectors, exclusive merchandises are up for grabs such as glow-in-the-dark T-shirts and customisable tote bags.

The Quest for the River Gem

It’s a fiesta and a bazaar in one: My Family Fiesta @ Safra Punggol is the perfect venue to spend quality time with all members of the family. Asian Festival of Children’s Content 2019

If your child loves books, the Asian Festival of Children’s Content (AFCC) 2019 may just be a heaven for him or her. Organised by the Singapore Book Council, AFCC is an annual event that brings together the best speakers and creators in the world of children’s literature, including award-winning translator Helen Wang, Random House Books for Young Readers editor Sara Sargent, and educator/publisher Mary George. Enlightening topics will be tackled in talks like “Why Adults Refuse to Admit Racist Content in the Children’s Books They Love” by children’s literature scholar Philip Nel.

This year, the festival will also feature workshops, the Book Illustrators Gallery—an exhibition showcasing picture book illustrations by illustrators from Southeast Asia, and a showcase of the best GIF creations from a recently held GIF Challenge.

Orchid Watercolour Workshop

Here’s another way to spend some quality time with the whole family. Get your paintbrush and imagination ready with Gardens by the Bay’s Orchid Colour Watercolour Workshop, another instalment from the workshop series Colours in Bloom. Joining this will allow you and your kids to draw, paint, and colour beautiful floral masterpieces while learning more about botany.

Singapore Science Festival

Catch more than 50 shows, exhibitions, workshops, and activities that bring science to life at the Singapore Science Festival 2019! Themed “This is Science,” the festival showcases how science is embedded in our everyday lives. Here, your child gets to be a scientist for a day with shows like The Impossible Science Show by famed American magician Jason Latimer, X-Periment! that will let participants experience hands-on lab activities, and The Inflatable Lungs Experience, which will showcase how lungs work.

POSB PAssion Run for Kids 2019

If you missed the registration for the run, you can still join in on the fun by attending the half-day carnival filled with exciting activities—whether you’re a runner or not! It’s a perfect stopover to your moon viewing party for the Mid-Autumn Festival too. Island Jamboree

Sentosa is celebrating its 47th birthday and you’re invited to its birthday bash, Island Jamboree! Kids will have a lot of activities to choose from, including performances by roving percussions and a Latin band. Watch jaw-dropping carnival acts by Jay Che as he performs his signature crystal ball and handcuff escape acts, as well as juggle multiple knives while riding his Rolla Bolla tower. A puppet show also awaits the kiddos, featuring Chinese singers and Peranakan and Bollywood dancers. End the day on a magical note with the special showcase of Merlion Magic Lights.
