Have you ever wondered how active your child’s imagination is? What adventures might he or she be dreaming about? A vivid imagination does wonders for a child—from enhancing problem-solving skills and creating more meaningful interactions to developing a better sense of self-confidence.
As parents, we are always on the lookout for events and activities that will help our children widen their horizons and think of new possibilities. So if you’re still plotting your happenings on your September calendar, be sure to fit this one right in as it will be a treat for the whole family!
From 27 to 29 September, a live performance of “The Way Back Home” will be staged at the SOTA Drama Theatre by Diva Productions. The play is based on the bestselling book by author and visual artist Oliver Jeffers.
The play’s simple storyline opens up to a wealth of amazing encounters that will captivate the viewers. A boy stumbles upon a plane… and what is there to do? Packing his curiosity and courage, he sets out for the flight of his life until the plane’s petrol runs out, landing him on the moon. Our little wanderer’s fright is broken (or perhaps enhanced) by the arrival of a Martian—stranger than a stranger, in short, an alien. Does this mean help? How will he find his way home?
With original music and plenty of audience participation, this charming 50-minute production will not only increase your child’s sense of wonder. It will also impart crucial lessons about friendship and caring for others, making it perfect for families with young children 3 years old and above.
